About the Job

As a Commissioning Coordinator for PCL Solar Constructors USA Inc. in Thomson, Georgia, you’ll join the field team responsible for commissioning and energizing utility‑scale solar projects.

Travel is required and the position may be located at any of our projects in Kentucky, Ohio, Georgia, Texas, Oklahoma, Washington and other states.

Per‑diem is available to help cover temporary living expenses for eligible candidates. Depending on project availability, you may be transferred to a different state after the project ends.

Responsibilities
  • Mentor and lead inspections and orientations, identify hazards and corrections, and lead by example for health and safety practices and procedures.
  • Coordinate with the superintendent on workforce planning.
  • Maintain project document control and procedures. Support project engineers and/or superintendents to lead trade contractors, including requests for information (RFIs), shop drawings, changes, and billings.
  • Participate in the supervision of self‑perform scopes, including resolving crew sizes, labor tracking, and quantity tracking for Labor Cost Reports (LCRs).
  • Mentor and coach field engineers and students or interns.
  • Identify issues on site or in defined work scopes.
  • Coordinate third‑party inspections and site reviews.
  • Participate in crafting, implementing, and supervising the quality plan, Inspection and Test Plan (ITP).
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with all partners.
Qualifications
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture or equivalent experience.
  • 0 to 12 months of varied experience as a field engineer/coordinator preferred; internships in the field may count as experience.
  • Knowledge of construction specifications and methods and procedures (e.g., formwork methodologies, self‑perform work, subcontracted work scopes, temporary work, equipment, and scheduling techniques).
  • Understands and applies construction principles to problem‑solve.
  • Effective verbal and written communication with supervisors, subcontractors and reports.
  • Proven track record of working in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Writes clear technical communication to trade contractors, designers and inspectors.
  • Develops and maintains effective partner relationships.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and construction‑related software.
