Assistant Claims Executive

Responsibilities

• Handle telephone and walk-in enquiries from clients, intermediaries, and other stakeholders.
• Manage claims from notification to settlement, including gathering details, arranging surveys, and liaising with settling agents.
• Prepare claim files, check policy/reinsurance/treaty arrangements, and issue acknowledgements and advice letters.
• Draft LLA/MLR, ensure timely reserves, and verify premium payments.
• Coordinate with Claims Recovery Agents for recoverable claims and elevate high‑value claims to management.
• Maintain records, update statistics, and support UAT for Marine Claims systems.
• Perform ad‑hoc duties as assigned by management.

• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Well‑versed in insurance principles.
• Possesses good interpersonal and communication skills, able to multitask, is a team player, conscientious, tactful, customer‑focused and willing to learn new skills.
• Prior work experience handling similar marine claims.
• Preferably ACII/AAII, CGI qualifications or relevant insurance equivalent (if candidate does not have the cert, they will be required to take the Certificate In General Insurance (CGI) exam upon joining).
