Description
Job Summary: A growing manufacturing operation in the Thomson area is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to support process improvements, production efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives within a fast‑paced production environment. This role will focus on optimizing manufacturing processes, reducing waste, improving workflow efficiency, and supporting production teams through engineering analysis and problem‑solving.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to increase productivity and reduce waste
- Develop and implement process improvements using lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
- Conduct workflow analysis, time studies, line balancing, and capacity evaluations
- Assist with equipment layout planning and manufacturing flow optimization
- Support prototype development, testing, and process validation activities
- Create and maintain manufacturing documentation including process flows, standard work instructions, and operational procedures
- Investigate production issues and implement corrective actions using root‑cause analysis techniques
- Collaborate with production, engineering, quality, and leadership teams to improve overall plant performance
- Monitor process performance and recommend improvements related to quality, safety, and efficiency
- Support maintenance and operational teams to ensure equipment reliability and uptime
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field
- Previous experience in a manufacturing engineering role
- Experience with lean manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement initiatives
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
- Experience conducting time studies, workflow analysis, and process balancing
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including Excel and Power Point
- Experience using CAD and/or CAM software preferred
- Ability to work cross‑functionally in a manufacturing environment
- Hands‑on prototype or process development experience
- Experience supporting high‑volume manufacturing operations
- Ability to lead projects and provide guidance to production teams
