Description

Job Summary: A growing manufacturing operation in the Thomson area is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to support process improvements, production efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives within a fast‑paced production environment. This role will focus on optimizing manufacturing processes, reducing waste, improving workflow efficiency, and supporting production teams through engineering analysis and problem‑solving.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to increase productivity and reduce waste
  • Develop and implement process improvements using lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Conduct workflow analysis, time studies, line balancing, and capacity evaluations
  • Assist with equipment layout planning and manufacturing flow optimization
  • Support prototype development, testing, and process validation activities
  • Create and maintain manufacturing documentation including process flows, standard work instructions, and operational procedures
  • Investigate production issues and implement corrective actions using root‑cause analysis techniques
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, quality, and leadership teams to improve overall plant performance
  • Monitor process performance and recommend improvements related to quality, safety, and efficiency
  • Support maintenance and operational teams to ensure equipment reliability and uptime
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing engineering role
  • Experience with lean manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement initiatives
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
  • Experience conducting time studies, workflow analysis, and process balancing
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including Excel and Power Point
  • Experience using CAD and/or CAM software preferred
  • Ability to work cross‑functionally in a manufacturing environment
Preferred Experience
  • Hands‑on prototype or process development experience
  • Experience supporting high‑volume manufacturing operations
  • Ability to lead projects and provide guidance to production teams
