Controller, Accounting, Accounting Manager

A growing industrial construction and services company in the northern Denver area is seeking a hands‑on Controller to help support the next phase of company growth and operational expansion.

This is a highly visible role partnering closely with leadership and operations teams to help strengthen accounting processes, improve reporting, and support a growing multi‑entity environment. The company specializes in industrial construction services including steel, piping, fabrication, equipment installation, millwright services, and related project‑based operations.

This opportunity is ideal for someone coming from a construction, industrial services, specialty contractor, or project‑based accounting environment who enjoys being both strategic and hands‑on.

• Lead month‑end and year‑end close processes
• Oversee general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and job costing functions
• Manage WIP reporting and percentage‑of‑completion accounting
• Partner with Project Managers and Operations teams on project financials and cost tracking
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting
• Improve accounting workflows, reporting accuracy, and internal controls
• Assist with audit coordination, compliance, and multi‑entity accounting processes
• Help support continued operational growth and accounting infrastructure improvements

• 7+ years of accounting/finance experience in construction, industrial services, manufacturing, or another project‑based environment
• Strong experience with job costing, WIP reporting, and construction accounting operations
• Experience managing month‑end close and financial reporting processes
• Knowledge of GAAP and project accounting principles
• ERP/accounting systems experience (Viewpoint, Sage, CMiC, Computer Ease, or similar preferred)
• CPA or CPA‑track background is a big plus, but not required
• Strong communication skills and ability to partner cross‑functionally with operations and leadership
