Program Assistant I – Approved Treatment Provider Program (ATPP) / Executive Clemency Program

Location

Denver, Colorado – Parole Broadway (Office of the Colorado Department of Corrections)

Eligibility

This position is open only to residents of Colorado.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a communication liaison for treatment providers.
  • Review and enter information into databases, ensuring accuracy and applicability.
  • Develop reports for treatment providers and ATPP specialists.
  • Ensure deliverables comply with Adult Parole regulations and directives from the Adult Parole Assistant Director.
  • Resolve ATPP-related issues outside the supervisory chain and maintain direct contact with approved treatment providers across the state.
  • Track budget expenditures and maintain billings and balances through record‑keeping and spreadsheet development.
  • Communicate regularly with treatment providers and other units within the CDOC and Adult Parole.
  • Determine the need for and scope of reports, correspondence, and communication.
  • Ensure compliance with CDOC, the American Correctional Association, and the Division of Adult Parole.
  • Provide administrative support to the Executive Clemency process for the Director of Executive Clemency and the Office of the Governor.
  • Interpret and apply rules and regulations governing Executive Clemency, ensuring that applicable information is captured and reported.
  • Utilize the principles and practices of Executive Clemency to resolve challenges and issues.
  • Select and apply program guidelines to provide services, resolve problems, answer questions, and advise others on program issues.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Four years of general clerical experience, including document creation, word‑processing, data entry, record keeping, and basic administrative tasks.
  • Or a combination of college or university coursework in business, criminal justice, or a related discipline and relevant experience equal to four (4) years. Applicants must submit unofficial transcripts.

  • Strong proofreading, organizational, and meticulous attention to detail.

  • Discretion in sensitive personnel matters and maintenance of confidentiality.
  • Stress tolerance, mental resilience, and ability to remain alert under pressure.
  • Read and comprehend the English language; communicate fluently in English.
  • Create accessible documents and technical content following plain‑language guidelines with accessibility in mind.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with the Executive Clemency process.
  • Experience working with both internal and external customers.
  • High‑level clerical duties experience.
  • Knowledge of federal and state law/legislation.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and Google Suite.
  • Experience with EOMIS, DCIS, PDCIS, CORE, and Adobe.
  • Ability to interpret complex rules, regulations, policies, and guidelines.
  • Experience handling confidential information.
