Territory Sales Director
As the face of Berkley Select in your region, you will drive profitable growth, deepen strategic relationships with broker partners, and expand our market presence.
Responsibilities- Develop territory‑specific business plans and budgets.
- Lead annual sales planning with internal teams and broker partners.
- Build and execute strategic growth plans with assigned producers and brokers.
- Conduct regular business reviews and planning sessions.
- Identify cross‑selling opportunities across product lines.
- Analyze market trends and identify new business opportunities.
- Expand Berkley Select’s footprint in emerging and underserved markets.
- Collaborate with underwriting and product teams to tailor solutions.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of new business.
- Use data‑driven insights to prioritize efforts and track performance.
- Serve as subject‑matter expert for Berkley Select’s professional liability products.
- Partner with underwriting, claims, and marketing teams to align on strategic initiatives.
- Escalate key opportunities and challenges to leadership.
- Maintain deep knowledge of competitor product offerings and distribution.
- Foster long‑term broker and client relationships.
- Conduct stewardship meetings and manage stakeholder engagement.
- Invite clients to flagship events and regional programs.
- Travel 35-40% of the time, including in‑person and virtual agency meetings.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- 3–5 years of insurance marketing or sales experience, preferably within the management and professional liability space.
- Established broker relationships and a track record of sales success.
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and persuade.
- Familiarity with AI/ML tools to support strategic decisions.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly self‑motivated, capable of working autonomously, and thrives in a team‑based environment.
- Position may be based in our Chicago, IL office or remote from Midwest locations including Denver, Colorado, or North/south Carolina.
Base Salary Range: $80,000 - $150,000, based on experience. The role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary bonus program. Benefits include Health, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability, Wellness, Paid Time Off, 401(k), and Profit‑Sharing plans.
