Job Description & How to Apply Below

Element Six is partnering with a specialist wholesale power provider to add a Manager to its Power Supply team.

This is an interesting opportunity for someone who has built their experience on the developer, IPP or power marketing side of the market and wants to see PPAs from a different perspective.

You’ll sit on the buy side, working directly with developers, IPPs and asset owners to secure the generation needed to serve utilities, cooperatives, municipalities and large energy users. It’s a lean commercial team, which means you will need to be comfortable in negotiation, structuring, and being pro-active.

What you’ll be doing?

  • Lead PPA and energy offtake negotiations from term sheet through execution.
  • Work directly with IPPs, developers, asset owners and power marketers.
  • Originate and evaluate solar, wind, standalone BESS and thermal-backed supply opportunities.
  • Manage multiple active negotiations while continuing to develop the wider supply pipeline.
  • Assess project economics, interconnection position, commercial risk and counter party strength.
  • Work across legal, finance, risk, credit and technical teams to move transactions forward.
  • Support and evaluate competitive supply RFPs.
  • Gain exposure to internally developed battery storage projects and the wider development lifecycle.

The role is technology-agnostic. One transaction might involve a BESS PPA, another could be gas. Another could require a completely different structure because of the customer’s load profile or the market it operates in.

The job is to understand what makes commercial sense and how to structure it.

What we’re looking for?

  • You’ll likely come from an IPP, developer, power marketer, energy supplier, or similar environment.
  • Hands-on experience negotiating PPAs or comparable energy contracts.
  • Experience taking transactions beyond initial origination and into negotiation and execution.
  • A strong understanding of wholesale power markets, ideally including Western US markets, SPP or WECC.
  • The financial literacy to understand project economics, challenge assumptions and work effectively with financial models.
  • The ability to operate across commercial, legal, technical and financial conversations.
  • A willingness to take ownership rather than wait for a process or playbook to tell you what happens next.

For someone who enjoys the commercial side of power markets but wants broader ownership of the deals they work on, there’s a lot to like here.
