CAD Technician

We’re looking for an experienced Jewelry CAD Designer to join our growing fine jewelry store as a full-time, onsite member of our design team.

This position is ideal for a skilled jewelry professional who understands that a beautiful design must also be durable, wearable, and practical to manufacture. You’ll collaborate with our designers and clients to transform ideas into thoughtfully engineered 3D jewelry designs using Matrix Gold, Matrix 9, and/or Jewel Beetle. You’ll also revise designs based on feedback, communicate clearly throughout the design process, and help keep custom projects moving efficiently from concept to completion.

Because this is a production-level position, candidates must have at least five years of professional, jewelry-specific CAD design experience. Experience in industrial, architectural, mechanical, or other forms of CAD—while valuable—does not replace the hands‑on jewelry design experience required for this role. Our ideal candidate is already proficient in designing fine jewelry for structural integrity, comfortable wear, manufacturing feasibility, and visual beauty.

Compensation: $65,000 - $70,000 yearly

• A minimum of five years of professional, jewelry-specific CAD design experience is required. Industrial, architectural, mechanical, or other non-jewelry CAD experience does not satisfy this requirement
• Proven ability to design fine jewelry for durability, wearability, beauty, stone security, and successful manufacturing
• Proficiency in Matrix Gold, Matrix 9, Jewel Beetle, or comparable professional jewelry CAD software
• Experience working in a high-production jewelry environment, with the ability to complete approximately two to three production-ready CAD designs per day
• Ability to work directly with clients, designers, jewelers, and sales associates to gather information, incorporate feedback, and keep projects moving forward
• Exceptional attention to detail, along with strong teamwork, organization, and communication skills
• A thorough understanding of jewelry construction, manufacturing processes, and industry standards
• Awareness of evolving jewelry styles, design trends, and production techniques
• Willingness and ability to work full-time and onsite at our Thornton, Colorado store

• Build CAD designs as requested by clients and other jewelry design associates
• Make changes as needed to designs to align with client aspirations
• Print test and production models and clean them in preparation for client approval or casting
• Use project management software to update projects daily
• Collaborate with the design team
• Consult with jewelers regarding design viability
