Lewis-Palmer School District 38 is looking for a Communication and Social Development Special Education Teacher at Palmer Ridge High School for the school year. The role of the Special Education Teacher is to identify, assess, and interpret student data, provide consultation for teachers, parents and administrators, provide direct interventions with students, develop and implement Individual Learning Plans (IEPs), and be a contributing member of the school professional learning community.
Communication and Social Development is a center-based program that strategically instructs students by integrating communication and social skills, working closely with the mental health team and speech-language pathologist. Experience teaching special education in the public school setting preferred. Must have or be eligible to receive a Colorado Special Services Provider License with K – 12 Generalist, or special education provider license.
The first day for teachers who are new to the district is July 31, 2026.
Exact placement on the pay schedule will be determined by the Director of Human Resources upon contracting. As a guideline, we offer up to 18 years of previous contractual teaching experience for a placement of Step 19, per school board policy. This pay range is based on education and experience levels with a range of $44,550 - $75,279 annually. We are also offering an additional 0.2 FTE as a special education teacher.
