Position Overview

Cross Country – Assistant Coed Coach (Job ). This temporary position supports coaching and supervision of student athletes at Thunder Vista P-8.

• Supervise student athletes and enforce district, school, league, and CHSAA rules and regulations.
• Plan, organize, and direct the cross‑country program.
• Teach and demonstrate advanced techniques in the specific sport.
• Promote and follow Board of Education policies, Superintendent policies, and building and department procedures.
• Maintain safety: recognize importance of safety, apply rules, practice safe work habits, use appropriate safety equipment, and report unsafe conditions.
• Communicate, interact, and work effectively with diverse groups of people.

• Current AED/CPR certification for Head Coaches or First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain) for Assistant Coaches.
• Current concussion certification from NFHS or Children’s Hospital Colorado (for Colorado coaches).
• Passing the CHSAA annual Coaches Exam.
• Valid CDE teacher license or CHSAA coach registration.
• Previous coaching experience at high school or college level is preferred.

• Knowledge and skills specific to cross‑country running.
• Ability to supervise and coordinate field practice sessions.
• Proficiency in teaching advanced techniques and ensuring athletes’ skill development.

Salary: Determined by sport and experience, per Athletic Coaches Salary Schedule in the Certified Master Agreement.
