ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities
- Create a positive educational climate for students to learn in
- Meet course and school-wide student performance goals
- Participate in ongoing training sessions
- Create and modify lesson plans throughout the year
- Grade papers and perform other administrative duties as needed
- Read and stay abreast of current topics in education
- Utilize various curriculum resources and technologies to enhance student learning
- Integrate competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plans
- Use district curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students served
- Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities
- Prepare and distribute parent communications
- Observe and evaluate student performance
- Manage student behavior in the classroom and create appropriate behavior strategies
- Serve as an advisor for the program’s Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO), including student engagement in leadership activities, conferences, events, competitions, and required day and overnight supervision responsibilities
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Must be a minimum of 18 years old
- Criminal background check required for hire
- Must possess, or be able to obtain within 30 days of hire, a valid Colorado Educator License from the Colorado Department of Education
- Must possess the required license and endorsement; if highly qualified by content test or semester hours, a Colorado educator license with a passing score on a CDE approved content test or 24 semester hours in specific core content classes may satisfy this requirement
- Preference given to candidates with ELL Training and/or an ESL or Linguistically Diverse Education Endorsement
Salary placement is based on the employee’s education and/or work experience. Certified/license employees are granted one year of experience credit for each full year of contractual and/or work experience up to a maximum of ten years, including in-district and out-of-district contractual teaching experience.
