Special Education Teacher - Thornton

Multiple contract positions are available in North Denver area schools, supporting students across elementary, middle, and high school settings within robust center-based programs.

You’ll play a central role in building life and academic skills, supporting learners with autism, emotional dysregulation, and other unique needs. Join environments staffed with skilled paraprofessional support, other educators, and specialized services that collaborate to help students thrive.

• Valid, active Colorado Department of Education Special Education certification
• Experience working with students with affective needs, autism, or significant behavioral and social‑emotional challenges
• Familiarity with structured learning services and center-based programs
• Ability to collaborate with paraprofessionals, teachers, and related service providers
• Commitment to individualized instruction and compassionate care

• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs for a diverse caseload, tailoring interventions and supports
• Lead and facilitate center-based classrooms
• Work closely with paraprofessionals, collaborating teachers, and specialized service providers
• Support students in building both academic and essential life skills, fostering inclusion and school adjustment
• Communicate regularly with families and school teams to ensure comprehensive student support
• Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal special education requirements
