• Paraprofessional management:
  Responsible for training & supervising 5–6 paraprofessionals

Special Education Teacher (Mod/Severe) in a School‑Based SLS/Autism Center‑Based program serving K‑5 students with autism spectrum disorder.

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with moderate to severe disabilities.
• Use Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices and visual supports to facilitate learning.
• Provide direct instruction and support to students, tailoring strategies to meet individual needs.
• Manage classroom environment and support staff, including training paraprofessionals.
• Complete Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training within the first 90 days.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and specialists to monitor student progress.
• Document and report student progress as required by school policy and state regulations.

• Active Colorado teaching license (required).
• Minimum 1 year of experience working with children on the autism spectrum.
• Experience in SLS (Specialized Language Services) programs.
• Experience in special education teaching and writing IEPs.
• Experience working with non‑verbal students (strongly preferred).
• Experience managing paraprofessionals or support staff (preferred).
