Qualifications- Active Colorado Department of Education certification with Special Education endorsement
- Experience supporting students with significant autism needs, including non-verbal students and AAC device familiarity
- Strong background in de-escalation, behavior management, and data-driven classroom strategies
- Comfortable collaborating in classroom settings with paras, fellow teachers, and specialty staff
- Commitment to supporting a diverse caseload across elementary and K-8 settings
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Teach and model functional life skills and social development for elementary-aged students
- Manage self-contained classrooms for students with significant autism, emotional, cognitive, or behavioral needs
- Foster a positive, adaptive, and inclusive classroom culture
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver well-rounded educational support
- Effectively handle challenging behaviors and implement supports for student and staff safety
