Must work all scheduled calendar days in Colorado

Purpose

To teach, collaborate, and provide service delivery to students on Individual Education Programs (IEP) within and outside of the general education environment. To manage a caseload of students and the legal documents required through federal, state, district, and school mandates of special education programming.

Essential Duties / Major Accountabilities
  • Be accountable for students, ourselves, and our team.
  • Develop and maintain transparent and honest relationships with students and team.
  • Provide students with an innovative environment to become productive members of society.
  • Participate in ongoing trainings in special education, including IEP compliance, enrollment procedures, course curriculum, academic support, transition, affective needs support, co‑teaching, progress monitoring, and caseload management.
  • Complete Learning & Development requirements for a GOAL teacher.
  • Attend regular coaching sessions with designated staff.
  • Complete teacher coursework as prescribed.
  • Attend regional and statewide meetings and training as required.
  • Participate in professional learning opportunities inside and outside of GOAL.
  • Complete all special education paperwork on time and with 100% compliance.
  • Complete student enrollment processes for students identified with IEPs.
  • Facilitate professional and effective IEP meetings with appropriate participants.
  • Maintain thorough documentation, progress monitoring, and service delivery notes.
  • Administer standardized achievement testing for students due to reevaluation.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with all stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with external service providers for benefit of students on IEPs.
  • Collaborate with other departments at GOAL.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians of students on IEPs.
  • Provide quarterly goal progress updates to parents/guardians.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with students, parents, and GOAL staff.
  • Support students with special needs.
  • Comply with confidentiality requirements in FERPA and HIPAA guidelines.
  • Facilitate instruction to ensure academic, social, emotional, and post‑secondary readiness.
  • Monitor and adjust curriculum, instruction, and IEP accommodations to enable each student to succeed.
  • Differentiate instruction and support general education teachers in differentiating instruction for students on IEPs.
  • Proctor district and state testing with accommodations for students on IEPs.
  • Utilize technology and platforms for all work at GOAL.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by ESS Administration.

Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Must reside in Colorado.
  • Must possess a Colorado Driver’s License.
Education
  • Colorado Special Education Generalist license or equivalent required.
  • Temporary Educator Eligibility (TEE) considered for unlicensed applicants enrolled in a program or scheduled for the generalist test.
  • Bachelor’s degree in education or related field required.
  • Master's degree in special education preferred.
Experience
  • Two years in special education preferred.
  • Teaching in online schools preferred.
  • Teaching at‑risk youth preferred.
