Salary Range: The annual salary for this position is $60,500 and may be up to 5% higher depending on relevant experience, education, and certifications when compared to others doing substantially similar work. This position is grant-funded.

Job Summary:

The CTE Student Services Advisor provides comprehensive, student-facing support for Career and Technical Education students at PCC Southwest, with primary responsibility for academic advising, enrollment guidance, retention support, and career-connected student success services. This position collaborates closely with others in Student Services, CTE staff on the Academics team, high schools and CE staff, and community partners to strengthen recruitment, retention, completion, and workforce pathways for CTE students.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provides comprehensive academic advising and graduation planning for all CTE students, ensuring they understand program requirements and maintain consistent progress toward completion.
• Leads recruitment initiatives for all CTE programs, including community events and high school visits in collaboration with Student Services, Academic Services, Marketing, and campus leadership.
• Facilitates the student enrollment process, providing guidance on admissions, registration, and financial aid resources to ensure a seamless transition into CTE programs.
• Provides student-facing guidance for selective admission processes, helping students understand requirements, prepare applications, and navigate program-specific admission protocols.
• Implements retention initiatives and monitors student progress, utilizing early alert systems to provide timely interventions and support for students at risk.
• Assists students in navigating time-sensitive compliance requirements, including background checks, immunizations, and certifications required for clinical placements, POST requirements, or practical experiences.
• Supports Concurrent Enrollment staff in program-specific guidance for CE CTE students through collaborative high school visits and programmatic updates for CE staff.
• Serves as a student-facing expert for institutional software, providing training and troubleshooting for Navigate, Banner, D2L, Recruit, and other student success tools.
• Develops and implements outreach initiatives specifically targeted at special populations and non-traditional students to promote equity, access, and success in CTE fields.
• Connects students with career-connected opportunities, including job shadows, internships, and apprenticeships, in collaboration with the CTE Academic Programs Coordinator and regional employers.
• Coordinates student participation in orientations, capstone events, simulations, and practical experiences to enhance student engagement and program completion.
• Collaborates with faculty coordinators, Student Services, and Academic Services departments to ensure a cohesive and holistic approach to student support across the CTE portfolio.
