R&D Engineer I Summary/Objective

Forge Nano Inc, is a fast growing materials company with a focus on manufacturing nano-scale coatings across a wide range of markets. The R&D team, responsible for internal and customer driven materials research and development, as well as equipment demonstrations, is seeking a talented entry-level process engineer to work with laboratory-scale equipment for powder processing. This position covers a broad range of duties including materials processing, instrumentation assembly and upkeep, instrumentation and materials development and general laboratory management.

This is an on-site, hands‑on job in a collaborative laboratory environment.

Use scientific and engineering principles to process new and existing coating chemistries, composite materials and products. This activity requires executing process runs or discovery experiments in accordance with established experimental plans.

Work is carried out in a research and development laboratory. While performing the duties of this job, the employee handles hazardous chemicals and powders in the laboratory. The employee will be required to wear all appropriate safety equipment including but not limited to eye protection, respiratory protection, gloves, steel toe shoes, and lab coat. Laboratory work is required. An employee in this position works in an environment in which safety, environmental and health concerns may demand constant attention.

The employee occasionally will work near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms; and occasionally may lift up to 40 lbs.

No travel is expected for this position.

• $60,000 - $75,000 based on qualifications.
