SummaryForge Nano Inc. is a global leader in Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) and nanocoating technologies, enabling breakthroughs in materials performance for industries ranging from semiconductors to energy storage and aerospace. The Semiconductor Field Process Support Engineer will support deployment, optimization, and performance of Forge Nano’s ALD systems at customer semiconductor fabs and R&D sites. The role combines process engineering and field service expertise, requiring a hands‑on approach to troubleshooting, system installation, and customer training.
EssentialFunctions & Responsibilities
- Serve as the on‑site technical expert for Forge Nano ALD systems at customer semiconductor and microelectronics facilities.
- Support process setup, recipe optimization and troubleshooting for ALD film deposition applications.
- Collaborate with Forge Nano’s engineering, R&D, and applications teams to refine system performance and process reliability.
- Perform equipment installations, calibrations, acceptance testing, and preventive maintenance.
- Train customer personnel on system operation, safety, and best practices.
- Record and analyze process data to identify trends, issues, and improvement opportunities.
- Represent Forge Nano with professionalism and a strong customer‑service focus while traveling (~50% of the time).
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in semiconductor process engineering or thin‑film deposition (ALD, CVD, PVD, or similar).
- Strong understanding of vacuum systems, gas delivery systems, and process‑control fundamentals.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot both process and hardware issues in complex systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interface effectively with customers.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% domestically and internationally.
- Hands‑on experience with ALD systems and recipe development in a semiconductor fab or research environment.
- Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC), design of experiments (DOE), and process data analysis.
- Prior experience in a field service, applications engineering, or customer support role.
- Understanding of cleanroom protocols and EHS standards for semiconductor manufacturing.
Work occurs in a large technical facility, remotely, and at customer locations in clean rooms, often with minimal physical clearance. Employees may handle hazardous chemicals and must wear appropriate safety equipment (eye protection, gloves, steel‑toe shoes, lab coat, etc.). Corporate and customer safety policies apply.
Physical DemandsEmployee must occasionally work near moving mechanical parts, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and lift containers up to 50 lbs. The noise level is moderate. Adequate accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.
TravelRegular and frequent travel is expected; the employee should reside within driving distance of the Thornton, CO facility.
Compensation- Hourly position with possible overtime at 1.5×. Expected hourly rate $40–52/hr based on experience.
