We are seeking a confident, motivated individual to join our team as a Duty Manager. Ideally, candidates will already have bar and/or barista training and experience supervising within a hospitality environment. However, full training will be provided for the right applicant.

Duty Manager – Highland Cinema

In this role, you will work closely with the existing Duty Managers, Senior Management Team and General Manager to support, maintain and enhance all aspects of our daily operations. The position offers competitive pay, tips and performance incentives.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead, motivate and support the Front of House team-including bar, box office and floor staff-ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Deliver consistently high standards of customer service.
  • Take a proactive, hands-on approach to managing staff and adapting operations as needed, always prioritising the customer experience.
  • Act as the senior point of contact during shifts, handling customer queries and resolving complaints professionally.
  • Ensure all public and staff areas are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and presentation.
  • Foster a positive, supportive and collaborative working environment.
  • Liaise regularly with Duty Managers, the General Manager and the wider management team to ensure efficient operations.
  • Assist with ordering, receiving deliveries, maintaining stock control and completing regular stock checks.
  • Oversee the preparation and running of shifts, including opening and closing procedures, till management, cleaning routines and security protocols.
  • Support the delivery of Highland Cinema events as required.
  • Participate in the recruitment, induction and training of new staff.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and contribute to the implementation of operational changes.
  • Ensure the highest standards of hygiene are maintained and that rigorous cleaning schedules are followed.
  • Ensure compliance with all Highland Cinema safety policies and procedures.
  • Undertake any additional duties reasonably requested that align with the level and nature of the post.
