About the Role
The primary responsibility of the Senior Logistics Supply Chain Manager is to create, implement, and manage the company’s logistics regional strategy, including daily procurement and management of the road, rail, and waterway network. This role focuses on achieving best‑in‑class rates and services, managing network health and partnerships, ensuring carriers meet safety requirements, leading root cause analysis investigations, strategic sourcing efforts, and mentoring the road team and broader organization.
WhatYou’ll Be Doing
- Develop the logistics strategy for Sub Region Aggregate logistics operations.
- Define and validate logistics zone structures and bill/pay rates.
- Define hauler contractual structures and incentives, defining internal vs. external routes to optimize value.
- Identify and support the implementation of logistics digital management tools.
- Oversee the production network and lead SPB meetings to optimize sourcing plans.
- Monitor internal asset performance including utilization, cost to operate, and benchmarking.
- Coordinate with Finance to define logistics P&L and work with senior analysts to benchmark hauler performance.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to safety policies in all work environments.
- Drive down cost at every opportunity, maximizing savings and value while eliminating loss or excess cost.
- Achieve cost savings through overall rate reductions, lane reductions, destination zone, mileage table, backhaul, and winter rates.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management/Business/Industrial Engineering and at least 5 years directly related experience or at least 10 years of directly related experience. Knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Office, and other ERP systems.
