Team Overview: The Colorado Democratic Party is committed to electing Democrats up and down the ballot and building long-term infrastructure to support a strong and inclusive Democratic coalition across the state. Our team works collaboratively with county parties, campaigns, labor organizations, grassroots activists, and national partners to engage voters, strengthen communities, and deliver victories at every level.
Role Overview: The Colorado Democratic Party (CDP) Coordinated Campaign Director will lead the planning, execution, and management of the 2026 Coordinated Campaign. This position is responsible for developing and implementing a statewide strategy for voter contact, organizing, and voter protection in partnership with campaigns, party committees, and key stakeholders. The Director will oversee the campaign’s budget and senior staff, foster collaboration across the Democratic ecosystem, and establish strong accountability structures to ensure the program and team continue to grow and perform throughout the election cycle.
The ideal candidate is an experienced campaign leader with a proven ability to manage complex operations, build relationships, and communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with staff and partners to develop a coordinated campaign strategy, including all aspects of organizing, direct voter contact, and voter protection
- Hire and manage senior staff of the coordinated campaign
- Manage the coordinated campaign budget
- Build relationships and collaborate with key stakeholders, including campaigns, national and state committees, and local and state parties
- Provide regular reports and updates about the work of the coordinated campaign to committees, key stakeholders, and campaigns
- Create and implement accountability structures that ensure the program and staff consistently grow and develop over the course of the cycle
Ideal candidates will have:
- Minimum of four cycles of experience on coordinated campaigns, with at least two of those cycles serving in senior staff positions on a coordinated campaign or in similar roles
- Experience managing staff through multiple layers
- Experience managing a budget is preferred
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders such as elected officials, candidates, campaign staff, activists, grasstops, and volunteers
- Effective communicator with a variety of audiences, including both internal and external staff and organizations
- Strong organizational and strategic thinking skills, with an ability to develop concrete, implementable plans
This position’s schedule will vary based on the needs of the campaign, including evening and weekend work throughout the election cycle. This is a general election position and will last at minimum through November 30 2026, with opportunities for extension.
