Responsible for maintaining all knives and blades for production use. Ensures all blades fit properly and identify damage or wear/tear.

• Operate and maintain sharpening equipment to factory specification.
• Ensure all knives and blades are free from damage and in good working order.
• Inspect blades in production machinery to ensure proper fit and identify excessive wear and tear.
• Assist with installation of new equipment and modify existing equipment as needed.
• Complete all assigned work orders, and maintain documentation of all work performed.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and communicate to supervisor or lead.
• Attend meetings and trainings as required.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
• Perform backup duties to other staff as needed.

• Knowledge of electric and mechanical procedures.
• Knowledge of basic math.
• Skill in using hand and power tools.
• Skill in using a personal computer and various software applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Ability to operate sharpening equipment.
• Ability to analyze, evaluate, and solve mechanical problems.
• Ability to communicate in a courteous and professional manner with both internal and external customers.
• Ability to consistently practice and enforce safe working habits.
• Ability to recognize safety risks and comply with all safety standards.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to be a good representative of the Company.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to pass a maintenance entrance exam.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including being on-call and weekends.

High School diploma required. Minimum of two years related experience in a maintenance position preferred.
