About the Role
You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and will perform as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility, including proper management of informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
- Evaluate donor reactions at the facility as outlined in SOPs; follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies, develop Center Physician’s standing orders, and facilitate donor transport to emergency care facilities.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when in need of unacceptable findings to donors or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
- Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
- Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER, following EHS guidance regarding employee incidents.
- Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, supporting investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs.
- Provide center‑level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS) as guided by Bio Life Medical Affairs.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
- Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned:
Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA). - Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy in the state of licensure.
- Satisfactorily complete the FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Hourly wage range: $28.16 – $38.72. The actual hourly wage offered may depend on qualifications, experience, education, certifications, and location. Eligible for short‑term incentives.
