Overview
Bio Life Plasma Services, a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd., is seeking a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support daily plasma center operations. The role reports to the Plasma Center Manager and works under the guidance of the Center Physician for medical issues.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility by conducting informed consent, AIDS education, self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).
- Manage donor adverse events, including evaluation of donor reactions as outlined in SOPs and following appropriate medical emergency procedures.
- Review laboratory test results and notify donors of unsuitable results.
- Develop Center Physician standing orders and coordinate donor transport to emergency care facilities as needed.
- Refer unacceptable findings or medical/technical questions to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs.
- Support Hepatitis
B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees. - Manage employee incident reporting and determine further evaluation required by occupational health or EHS.
- Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats.
- High school diploma or equivalent; or graduate‑level nursing education meeting state requirements.
- Currently licensed or certified in the state of assignment: LPN or LVN.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Complete FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two (2) years of clinical or hospital experience.
Location: USA – CO – Thornton
Hourly Wage: $28.16–$38.72 (range varies with qualifications, experience, and location).
