A healthcare organization is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join its surgical services team. This opportunity is ideal for nursing professionals who are passionate about perioperative care, patient safety, and collaborating with surgical teams to deliver exceptional clinical outcomes.

About the Role

The Operating Room RN plays a vital role in supporting patients throughout the surgical experience. Working alongside surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and other healthcare professionals, this position is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality care before, during, and after surgical procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for surgical procedures through comprehensive assessments and preoperative care
  • Verify patient information, surgical procedures, and operative sites according to established safety protocols
  • Administer medications, intravenous therapies, and treatments as prescribed
  • Assist with surgical procedures while maintaining a sterile and safe operating environment
  • Monitor patient status throughout the perioperative process and respond appropriately to changes in condition
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical staff to coordinate patient care
  • Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and thoroughly
  • Educate patients and family members regarding surgical procedures, recovery expectations, and postoperative care
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention standards, patient safety measures, and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives designed to enhance surgical outcomes and patient experiences
Qualifications
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility for licensure
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Previous operating room or perioperative nursing experience preferred
  • Advanced life support certifications preferred or ability to obtain
  • Strong critical-thinking, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment
