The Optimal Hospice Registered Nurse
  • Hospice heart:
    Compassionate, kind, and empathetic to your patients and their families.
  • Nurse/Patient Relationship:
    Develops and maintains a therapeutic relationship through the health care continuum.
  • Provides direct patient care services to hospice patients.
  • Empowers patient's caregivers by educating them on care for their loved one.
  • Provides coordination of care, ensuring continuous assessment of each patient's and family's needs.
  • Responsible for documentation and communication of care, medication, and observations made during care of the patient to track responsiveness and health.
  • Responsible for providing appropriate patient/family education to help them achieve a pain‑free and comfortable status.

Schedule

Monday through Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm. On‑call rotation with additional pay.

Pay

$92,000 – $98,000 per year depending on experience.

Qualifications
  • Registered nurse with current licensure to practice professional nursing in the state.
  • Graduate of a National League for Nursing accredited school of nursing.
  • Maintains a current CPR certification.
  • Current valid driver’s license.
  • At least one year of hospice experience (preferred).
  • Demonstrates excellent observation, problem‑solving, verbal and written communication skills, and nursing skills per competency checklist.
  • Shows ability to organize and prioritize workload independently.
