Job SummaryAs a Registered Nurse Emergency Room, you influence patient care and collaborate with managers and hospital councils. You coordinate and deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care using established nursing models. You serve as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, supporting the organization’s vision, mission, and values.
Responsibilities- Assess patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after interventions.
- Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Document the administration of care in the patient medical record timely and thoroughly.
- Respond promptly to patient requests, anticipating needs and resolving them proactively.
- Teach patients/families/caregivers about medical condition, status, treatment plan, medications, side effects, and follow‑up measures. Translate complex terminology for complete understanding.
- Teach non‑medicinal follow‑up measures such as diet, exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes; prepare patients for self‑management.
- Current licensure in Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or active multistate RN license.
- Current AHA or ARC BCLS, AHA or ARC ACLS, PALS, and TNCC required.
- Current Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NVCRISIS) required.
- 30‑day grace period from hire date for BCLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NVCRISIS.
- ENPC preferred.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school; BSN desirable.
- 1–2 years acute care, ED and/or other critical care/specialty nursing strongly preferred.
