Position Overview
Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations, reporting to the Plasma Center Manager.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and review of serological protein electrophoresis.
- Manage donor adverse events and review laboratory test results, notifying donors of unsuitable test results.
- Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs and facilitate medical emergency procedures, including development of Center Physician standing orders and transport to emergency care facilities.
- Collaborate with the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings and guidance on medical or technical issues.
- Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and determine need for occupational health/ER evaluation.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, supporting investigations of pandemic threats in the local community.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or completion of an accredited nursing program with state credentials.
- Current state license or certification as Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA).
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- State‑mandated basic IV therapy training.
- Completion of FDA‑approved Bio Life Medical Support Specialist training.
- At least two years of clinical or hospital experience.

CompensationU.S. hourly wage range: $28.16 – $38.72. Actual wage may vary based on qualifications, experience, and location, and will comply with state or local minimum wage requirements.
