About the role
You will determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) works under the guidance of the Center Manager and provides central level support for environmental, health and safety (EHS).
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility including proper management of informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).
- Evaluate donor reactions following SOPs for medical emergencies including developing physician standing orders and transferring donors to emergency care facilities.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical findings or technical issues.
- Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
- Manage employee incidents and determine further evaluation required by occupational health or ER.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats.
- High school diploma or equivalent; graduate level recognized nursing program with state requirements.
- Licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned (LPN or LVN).
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Complete the FDA approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years experience in a clinical or hospital setting.

Hourly wage range: $28.16 - $38.72 (U.S. based employees may be eligible for short‑term incentives).
Full‑time employee.
