Job Description

As a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) you will support plasma center operations under the guidance of the Center Manager. You will determine donor eligibility, manage adverse events, review laboratory test results, notify donors of unsuitable results, and provide center‑level support of EHS and medical affairs.

• You will determine donor eligibility; properly manage informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).
• You will evaluate donor reactions and follow the SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of the Center Physician’s standing orders and transport to emergency care facilities.
• You will refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when providing unacceptable findings to donors or guidance concerning medical or technical issues.
• You will support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• You will manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER, referring to EHS guidance regarding employee incidents.
• You may act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats.

• High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate‑level recognized nursing program with state requirements.
• Current license or certification in the state of assignment: LPN or LVN.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Basic IV therapy training per state requirements.
• Completion of FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years of clinical or hospital experience.

Location: USA – CO – Thornton

Hourly Wage Range: $28.16 – $38.72

The actual hourly wage offered may vary based on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and the location of the applicant. It will comply with state or local minimum wage requirements. New hires may accrue up to 120 hours paid vacation.
