American Traveler is hiring an experienced ED RN for a 13-week travel assignment requiring 1-2 years of acute care emergency department experience and multiple specialty certifications.
Details- Work in a 40-bed Emergency Department averaging 145 patients daily
- Unit staffed with RNs, Paramedics, EMTs, Nurse Externs, and Unit Secretaries
- Patient ratio of 4:1
- Uses IV pumps, EKG machines, ultrasound machines, Belmont rapid infuser, Lifepack, and GE transport monitors
- Meditech EMR used for charting
- Mid shift schedule from 1:00 PM to 1:00 AM
- 13-week assignment
- Active RN license (CO or Compact) currently in hand
- Minimum 1-2 years of current acute care ED RN experience
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC, and ENPC
- CPI Blue card required
- Trauma Level 1 or Level 2 experience preferred
- Prior Meditech experience preferred
- No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required
- Perform rapid ESI triage, comprehensive nursing assessments, and focused reassessments
- Conduct pain, sepsis, and stroke screenings with appropriate interventions
- Respond to trauma level 1 and 2 activations and mass casualty incidents
- Administer blood products and assist with procedural sedation
- Provide pediatric emergency care and behavioral health crisis intervention
- Perform vital sign monitoring, EKGs, defibrillation, IV insertion, and blood/blood culture collection
- Administer medications and assist with suturing, staples, wound care, and splinting
- Ideal candidates are experienced, team-oriented, motivated ER nurses with a strong focus on patient care
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates will not be considered
