Position: Quality Assurance Manager (Food Distribution Programs)

As the Quality Assurance Manager of McLane Global, you will assist in the management of quality control activities for day‑to‑day distribution center operations. This role will have a primary focus on quality assurance related to food distribution for operating federal nutrition assistance programs with a primary hub warehouse in Henderson and an overflow warehouse in Aurora.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage assigned direct reports including quality assurance support staff.
  • Maintain close rapport with DC operations to identify, solve and prevent problems affecting quality.
  • Direct product quality surveillance of operations areas with possible periodic facility inspections.
  • Conduct daily quality audits, data collection and KPI presentations.
  • Work with the Technicians performing daily tasks for coverage on the floor and consistent on the floor training and coaching.
  • Perform weekly / monthly audits of food safety at the facility and develop corrective actions, including following up with different departments to verify work complete.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with federal, state/ provincial, and local food safety regulations, as well as company policies.
  • Develop SOP’s and training programs based on SOP’s.
  • Develop weekly/daily reports on KPI’s of Food Safety, Safety, and training which is communicated interdepartmentally.
  • Work on special projects including but not limited to our EMP, Shelf Life, quality specifications and product sampling.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s in food science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology, or related field preferred.
  • 4+ year’s experience in quality assurance.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • HACCP.
  • PCQI; GFSI scheme practitioner, or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Internal Auditor (ISO 22000/ FSSC 22000/ PrimusGFS).
