Overview

Goodwill of Colorado seeks candidates with production (retail, restaurant, hospitality, manufacturing) and cash handling experience for the Retail Generalist Associate position. Career growth opportunities are available within the organization.

Position: full‑time. Open availability is required, including evenings and weekends. Store hours are 9‑9 Monday‑Saturday and 9‑8 Sunday.

Pay and Benefits

Hourly pay $17.45. Eligible for Daily Pay. Job Summary

The Associate II, Retail Generalist brings knowledge of retail products, merchandising, pricing and quality inspection. Tasks vary across departments—donation receiving, material handling, product processing, sales floor duties and cash register operation. This role involves frequent customer interaction and requires an Attitude of Gratitude to support the organization's mission.

Essential Functions
  • Crosstrain in other departments and act as a back‑up as required.
  • Work closely with supervisors to support short‑handed areas and meet store goals.
  • Accept customer donations, including loading/unloading, handling with care.
  • Inspect, sort, price and research donated items.
  • Obtain certifications for pallet jack, walkie stacker, forklift, hand dolly or other equipment to move and store product.
  • Ensure sales floor is stocked per policies and procedures.
  • Provide accurate cashier transactions and maintain balanced cash drawer.
  • Assist customers with product questions, providing excellent service.
  • Keep production and sales floor organized, stocked and clean for optimal presentation.
  • Process e‑commerce items accurately and efficiently.
  • Rotate or pull unsold or old products from sales floor.
  • Help maintain a safe work environment for employees and customers.
  • Job duties may extend beyond those listed.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • One year experience in retail, product placement or merchandising (desired).
  • One year of cash handling experience (preferred).
  • High attention to detail and decision‑making ability.
  • Adaptable to frequently changing schedules and tasks.
  • Ability to obtain on‑the‑job and power equipment operator certifications.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, use a dolly and pallet jack, endure prolonged standing, bending and lifting up to 8 hours per day.
  • Willingness to work varied schedules, including weekends, evenings, holidays, and occasional overtime.
  • Effective communication with customers and staff.
Physical Requirements

Lifting:
Light (≤14 lbs) frequently;
Moderate (15‑44 lbs) occasionally;
Heavy (≥45 lbs) occasionally. Carrying:

Heavy (≥45 lbs) occasionally. Other demands include pushing and pulling frequently, reaching at shoulder height frequently, twisting, bending, kneeling/crawling and squatting occasionally, continuous hearing, vision, hand/finger movements, walking, standing, occasional sitting and speaking.
