Job Summary

The Senior Account Executive is a critical hybrid role focused on driving new business development and managing an established book of accounts within the region. This position serves as the primary individual sales contributor for the market, responsible for meeting personal revenue goals while also providing direct coaching and mentorship to one junior sales team member.

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Provide hands‑on coaching, sales strategy guidance, and performance support.
  • Oversee the BDA’s activities related to lead generation, prospecting, and pipeline building.
  • Support ongoing professional development and assist with complex sales scenarios.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute individual sales plans and territory strategies to achieve personal sales quotas and contribute to regional revenue targets.
  • Actively prospect, negotiate, and close complex deals with new clients, ensuring favorable terms.
  • Build and maintain long‑term relationships with key accounts, partners, and industry stakeholders to support retention and upsell opportunities.
  • Manage a personal sales pipeline and provide accurate, timely forecasting.
  • Directly manage, coach, and develop the assigned Business Development Associate (BDA).
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, training, and ongoing mentorship for the BDA.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including Marketing, Operations, and Finance—to support sales initiatives and client fulfillment.
  • Conduct market analysis and evaluate competitive trends to inform new business opportunities.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through exceptional support and service delivery.
  • Prepare and deliver regular reports and updates on sales performance and BDA progress to leadership.
  • Address customer inquiries, concerns, and escalations promptly and professionally.
Requirements

Required Skills:

  • Proven success in exceeding individual sales quotas and driving revenue growth.
  • Strong leadership, mentorship, and business acumen with a desire to coach junior talent.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a customer‑centric approach to sales and account management.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate a direct report.
  • Proficiency with sales management tools and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Willingness to travel within the region as needed.
  • Knowledge of Building Controls, Building Automation, HVAC, Energy Management, or a related field (preferred but not required).
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field (required).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, business development, or a related field with a history of strong performance (required).
  • Previous experience mentoring, coaching, or managing junior sales professionals (preferred).
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
