Our client is a boutique CPA firm based in Thousand Oaks, CA, serving high-net-worth individuals and closely held businesses through tax compliance, planning, and advisory services. The firm is known for professionalism, responsiveness, and personalized client service.
About the RoleThe Senior Tax Accountant will handle complex tax work, manage client relationships, and operate with minimal supervision in a fast-paced professional environment. This is a full-time, on-site role for an experienced public accounting professional who can prepare and review returns, identify planning opportunities, and deliver accurate client service.
Responsibilities Tax Preparation & Review- Prepare and review federal and state tax returns, including individual, partnership, and S-corporation returns.
- Manage tax engagements and help ensure timely, accurate filings.
- Identify tax planning opportunities and provide practical recommendations to clients.
- Communicate with clients regarding tax matters, planning needs, document requests, and tax notices.
- Research tax issues, interpret regulations, and support client-specific recommendations.
- Perform bookkeeping and accounting support as needed.
- Maintain organized work papers, documentation, and client files.
Required Qualifications (Must-Haves)
- 10+ years of public accounting experience.
- Strong experience preparing and reviewing individual and business tax returns.
- Knowledge of federal and California tax law.
- Proficiency with tax software, Excel, and related accounting tools.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and client-service skills.
- Experience supporting high-net-worth individuals and closely held businesses.
- Bookkeeping and accounting support experience.
Basic salary is around $90-$120K plus medical, dental and life insurance and an annual bonus which is based on tax season overtime. This is a full-time, on-site role in Thousand Oaks, CA, within a collaborative and professional environment with growth opportunities.
