Role Description

This full-time, on-site role in California combines construction work, estimating, and drafting responsibilities in support of carpentry and related trades. Day-to-day tasks include performing hands-on construction activities, assisting with layout and installation as needed. The role also involves reviewing project plans, conducting measurements, preparing basic estimates, and contributing to quantity takeoffs. The Construction Worker, Estimator, Drafter will help create and update drawings or sketches, collaborate with supervisors and crew members, follow safety protocols, and ensure work is completed to company standards and client specifications.

  • Demonstrated experience estimating construction projects, preferably in rough carpentry or framing.
  • Proficiency with construction drawings, specifications, and quantity takeoff methods.
  • Comfort using estimating or project management software, as well as Excel or similar tools.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with internal teams and vendors.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work on-site in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Knowledge of building codes, construction practices, and materials relevant to carpentry trades.
  • Related degree or previous experience in estimating, project coordination, or field construction roles is highly considered.
Qualifications:

Drafter
  • Proficiency with drafting and design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar CAD tools) and ability to produce clear, detailed construction drawings.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, rough carpentry practices, building codes, and basic structural principles.
  • Solid technical drawing, layout, and measurement skills, with a keen eye for accuracy and consistency.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with project managers, field supervisors, and other team members.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities, including managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to interpret architectural and engineering plans and translate them into practical, buildable drawings.
  • Related degree or previous experience in drafting, project coordination, or field construction roles is highly considered.
Qualifications:

Construction Worker
  • Construction and Renovation skills, with experience in general building tasks and project support.
  • Research skills to interpret plans, specifications, and instructions and to identify appropriate methods and materials.
  • Knowledge of hand and power tools, equipment operation, and basic measurements.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and ability to follow OSHA and company safety guidelines.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and reliability, with the ability to follow instructions and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting heavy materials and working at heights when required.
  • Previous construction or carpentry experience preferred; relevant certifications or training are a plus.
