Basic Function: Under the direction of the Program Director, the Non-Instructional Adjunct would assist with program-related needs, for example, conducting interviews with graduate students applying to a Graduate School of Psychology program or assisting with other program tasks.

Representative Duties:

• Review student application files.
• Meet and interview graduate students.
• Evaluate students.
• Provide feedback to faculty about interviews and suitability of the student for entry into a graduate program.

Knowledge Of:

• Current theory and practice within the subject discipline
• Principles and best practices of effective teaching

Ability To:

• Demonstrate a thorough and accurate knowledge of the subject field or discipline
• Exhibit sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, social, economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of University students.
• Exhibit sensitivity to and understanding of the needs of students with disabilities.
• Maintain professional standards that protect student confidentiality
• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing using tact, patience, and courtesy

Minimum Qualifications:

• Possession of a master's degree from a graduate institution of recognized standing or equivalent experience and professional recognition. Practice in providing clinical services as an MFT or Psychologist.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Doctoral degree in a discipline related to either MFT or psychology

Licenses and Other Requirements: None

Physical Abilities: Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to operate office equipment; speaking to exchange information, provide instruction and make presentations; sitting or standing for extended periods of time; pushing, pulling or lifting light objects; bending and reaching to store and/or retrieve files.

Working Environment: Indoor classroom environment; subject to visiting a variety of classroom sites on campus.

Hiring Range $32.00-$39.50/hour
