Job Overview
Apply to become a Youth Dance Instructor. The role involves teaching and demonstrating dance to children, encouraging participation, and serving as a positive role model. You must be 18 years or older and have dance experience.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and teach youth in at least two different types of dance classes, using your dance experience and education.
- Interact with and encourage the children to participate in the activities during classes.
- Teach and model appropriate techniques and skills.
- Communicate effectively with students in a patient, friendly manner.
- Show how you are a positive role model.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- CPR/AED/First Aid certification from one of the following organizations:
- American Safety & Health Institute
- American Heart Association
- American Red Cross
- Knowledge and expertise in dance.
- Ability to communicate effectively to youth participants and their parents/guardians.
- Ability to plan, lead and participate in dance activities.
- Ability to lift equipment and lift a small to average size child.
- Ability to see and supervise children.
- Ability to instruct and observe participants in proper dance techniques.
