Basic Function
Under the direction of the Dean, Department Chair or Program Director, the Adjunct Faculty Member is responsible for providing academic instruction to students for the assigned undergraduate and/or graduate courses.
Representative Duties- Provide academic instruction through lecture, lab or performance courses; assess students and develop abilities.
- Advise students regarding programs of study and study skills, refer to support services.
- Observe and evaluate student performance; provide feedback timely.
- Plan and organize instruction according to approved outlines; implement objectives.
- Maintain accurate records and submit data and reports.
- Evaluate and select instructional materials; order materials.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- Current theory and practice within the subject discipline.
- Principles and best practices of effective teaching.
- Demonstrate thorough and accurate knowledge in the subject field.
- Deliver course curricula in various learning styles.
- Exhibit sensitivity to diverse students and disabilities.
- Integrate current and emerging instructional technologies.
- Maintain confidentiality professional standards.
- Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Possession of a master’s degree from a graduate institution of recognized standing or equivalent experience and professional recognition.

Physical Abilities- Manual dexterity; speaking; sitting or standing extended periods; pushing, pulling, lifting light objects; bending and reaching.
- Indoor classroom environment; subject to visiting a variety of classroom sites on campus.
