Basic Function:

The California Lutheran University Graduate School of Psychology(GSoP) invites applications for a full-time, Assistant Professor tenure-track position in our APA-accredited PsyD Program in Clinical Psychology beginning in Fall 2027. The PsyD Program is asecular program that values science and social justice and directly affirms sexual and gender minority inclusivity.

Representative Duties:
  • Provide academic instruction to students through lecture; assessand develop student communication skills and higher order thinking skills through appropriate assignments and activities. E
  • Advise and instruct students regarding programs of study,lifelong learning resources, and effective study skills; refer students to support services, programs, resources, and other professionals as appropriate. E
  • Observe and evaluate student performance in meeting course objectives and student learning outcomes through assignments,projects, discussions, and examinations; provide feedback in atimely manner to student inquiries in class, online, or during established office hours. E
  • Plan and organize instruction according to approved course outlines and student learning outcomes to maximize student learning in alignment with program and university mission/goals; implement the student performance objectives as listed on the official course outline of record. E
  • Maintain current, accurate records of course enrollment,attendance, student academic progress, and student learning outcomes. E
  • Evaluate and select instructional materials such as textbooks,manuals, software, and tools in collaboration, as appropriate, withother faculty; order instructional materials according to campus bookstore procedure to ensure timely delivery.

    Within that context,the expectation is to create creative assignments and activities inone-on-one and classroom instructional settings to foster hands-on,active learning in students that will develop their expertise inthe subject matter. E
  • Maintain an active research program that involves graduate research assistants and collaborators. E
  • Observe and evaluate student performance in meeting course objectives and student learning outcomes through assignments,projects, discussions, and examinations; provide feedback promptly to student inquiries in class, online, or during established consultation office hours. E
  • Maintain current, accurate records of course enrollment,attendance, student academic progress, course curriculum; prepare and submit grades, data, and reports related to the course and student progress promptly. E
  • Provide a course syllabus to students in each class within thefirst week of the class, as outlined in the faculty handbook.

  • Adhere to the responsibilities related to teaching, advising,service, and scholarly, professional, and creative activities, as outlined in the faculty handbook. E
  • Attend and participate on committees and in the department,division, campus, and University meetings. E
  • Evening and weekend hours may be required. E
  • Perform related duties as assigned. E
