About the role
Reporting to the Head of Process Engineering, you will provide strategic technical leadership and high‑level support for manufacturing operations and project initiatives across the Rancho and Lawrence facilities. In this senior role, you will drive process reliability, influence engineering direction, and lead complex cross‑functional efforts that support safe, compliant, and efficient production. You will serve as a key technical advisor, leveraging deep expertise to guide decision‑making, resolve critical issues, and advance continuous improvement across both sites.

- Apply advanced engineering principles to support operations and enhance system performance.
- Lead the design and implementation of major system modifications, process improvements, and capital projects.
- Provide expert technical support for manufacturing issues, investigations, and equipment troubleshooting.
- Drive root‑cause analyses and ensure effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of manufacturing equipment and recommend improvements to boost efficiency and reduce cycle time.
- Identify new materials, technologies, and process enhancements to strengthen reliability and customer satisfaction.
- Lead process improvement initiatives, including implementation, training, and performance measurement.
- Manage and execute complex projects, coordinate contractors, and direct technician activities.
- Track project costs, assess impacts of design or policy changes, and provide capital and process recommendations.
- Deliver clear technical updates and project summaries to stakeholders.
- Use engineering tools (e.g., FMEA, process modeling, DOE) to evaluate and solve technical challenges.
- Ensure all work aligns with cGMPs, SOPs, company procedures, and Good Engineering Practices.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support operational and project goals.
- B.S. in Engineering required;
Chemical or Mechanical Engineering preferred with 5+ years of experience in a GMP pharmaceutical environment. - Strong understanding of packaging and aseptic equipment, including single‑use systems, filling machines (Isolator and RAB), cappers, parts washers, autoclaves, lyophilizers, and CIP/SIP systems.
- Broad knowledge of core engineering principles, cGMP manufacturing, and Good Engineering Practices (GEP).
- Excellent technical writing and documentation skills.
- Demonstrated integrity, sound judgment, strong work ethic, and a practical, solutions‑oriented mindset.
- Work in controlled or cleanroom environments requiring full gowning and PPE (including hearing protection in loud areas).
- Remove makeup, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish, and artificial nails while in manufacturing areas.
- Work in cold, wet, or chemical‑handling environments, with respiratory protection as needed.
- Lift, push, pull, or carry up to 25 lbs and perform both sedentary and on‑floor activities.
- Work multiple shifts, weekends, or supplemental hours; provide on‑call support; and be available outside standard business hours.
- Operate in a fast‑paced environment and prioritize multiple competing tasks.
