Senior Engineering Manager – Automated Test Equipment (ATE)
Background
We are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the development and delivery of next-generation Automated Test Equipment (ATE) platforms. This individual will provide technical leadership, drive cross-functional execution, and manage multidisciplinary engineering teams responsible for delivering complex electro‑mechanical systems from concept through production and sustainment.
The ideal candidate will combine strong systems engineering expertise with proven leadership experience, helping align electrical, mechanical, thermal, firmware, software, and manufacturing teams to deliver high‑quality products on schedule.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of complex ATE platforms from concept through production release and lifecycle support.
- Provide system‑level technical leadership and drive architectural alignment across engineering disciplines.
- Lead technical tradeoff discussions involving performance, reliability, manufacturability, schedule, and cost.
- Identify and mitigate technical, manufacturing, and execution risks throughout the product lifecycle.
- Drive cross‑functional collaboration between hardware, software, firmware, mechanical, systems, manufacturing, and operations teams.
- Partner with product management to translate customer and market requirements into executable engineering plans.
- Support DFM/DFA initiatives, factory readiness, production ramp activities, and product sustainment efforts.
- Manage and develop engineering teams through hiring, mentoring, coaching, and performance management.
- Establish engineering processes and operating rhythms that support predictable project execution and product quality.
- Communicate program status, priorities, risks, and technical decisions to senior leadership and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related fields.
- 10+ years of experience developing complex electro‑mechanical products.
- 3+ years of engineering management experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Proven experience delivering products from concept through production.
- Strong systems‑level understanding of electrical, mechanical, thermal, embedded, and software‑integrated products.
- Experience leading large cross‑functional technical programs.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Automated Test Equipment (ATE), semiconductor test systems, instrumentation, capital equipment, or related technologies.
- Experience with DFM/DFA, manufacturing scale‑up, reliability engineering, and PLM processes.
- Experience supporting global engineering and manufacturing organizations.
- Customer‑facing experience gathering requirements and supporting product strategy.
