Sr. Process Engineer

Overview

As part of Skyworks’ global operations, the Yield group supports the high-volume production of our wafers to meet the growing demand for our solutions. The team is committed to delivering high-quality, cost-effective, and differentiated products utilizing GaAs HBT and pHEMT technologies, in addition to supporting other fast-emerging processes. Our team members work closely with all organizations within Skyworks to deliver superior performance in a fast-paced environment.

• Reviews and troubleshoots root cause of issues and takes corrective action.
• Dispositions lots in a timely manner.
• Runs experiments and analyzes the data for determining root cause or for continuous process improvement.
• Reviews incoming epi data, review PCM, probe and assembly data, perform electrical to epi correlation, optimize epi for optimum yields.
• Involvement may begin at any step from pilot plant to full-scale manufacturing.
• May conceive and plan projects involving definition and selection of new concepts, equipment automation technology, and approaches in the processing or development of new or improved processes.
• Extracts data from various databases and performs data analysis using JMP, Exensio, Galaxy, or Excel.
• Coordinates activities for containment and disposition of lots for a yield event.
• Generates yield reports on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.

• A BS or MS in EE, or equivalent technical degree
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Data analysis skills using Excel, JMP, Galaxy or other relevant software packages
• Familiarity with semiconductor devices and circuits
• Ability to exercise good judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action needed to resolve lot issues
• Be able to work in fast paced production environment

• Minimum 4 years equivalent experience in the field of semiconductor manufacturing or engineering
• Knowledge of failure analysis (SEM, FIB, thermal imaging, etc.) desired
• Programming skills: C++, C, Python, Machine Learning, etc

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $87,600 - $167,900 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location.
