Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Create control algorithms, download source code to controllers, manage system databases, and implement an animated front‑end graphical user interface.
- Integrate multiple systems, enabling different protocols to communicate and share information with a single front end for multiple platforms.
- Execute project start‑ups, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of installed BAS controls and mechanical systems.
- Coordinate network drops, IP addresses, and monitoring tools with customers’ IT departments.
- Work with equipment vendors to coordinate communication protocols, encryption, and database requirements for integration.
- Generate semi‑complex reports to analyze system operation and demonstrate consistency with the contracted scope of work.
- Participate in final inspection and testing, assure customer acceptance, and conduct end‑user training.
- Provide plans and control‑system documents for as‑built drawings using the latest digital technology.
- Mentor other specialists who may need specific automation or HVAC product knowledge.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
- 6+ years of experience with Siemens Apogee and Desigo.
- Working knowledge of HVAC systems – from unitary systems to central plants.
- Troubleshooting skills for distinguishing HVAC from computer/controller issues.
- General understanding of IP networks.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints.
- Knowledge of object‑oriented programming (Java, C++).
- Knowledge of AutoCAD (a plus).
- Familiarity with BACnet, Lon Works, Tridium Niagara, Direct Digital Controls, Honeywell Webs, Modbus, Alerton, Johnson Controls FX, Staefa, Solidyne, Andover Controls, Siemens, and Schneider (preferred).
$63.00 - $83.00 per hour
