Job Responsibilities

Plans, organizes, and directs all aspects of the Human Resources function of the hospital, including HR strategies, operations, employee/labor relations, compensation and benefits, management and staff education, regulatory compliance, union contract management, recruitment, retention, employee health, workers' compensation, HRIS, and policy interpretation. Acts as a senior management team member, partnering with senior management to achieve the hospital’s mission and goals, and supports corporate initiatives.

  • Knowledge of budgetary practices
  • Experience in human resource management
  • Effective communication skills (written and oral)
  • Current knowledge of healthcare and labor law regulations
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude
  • Ability to think globally
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with at least five years’ experience in healthcare
Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develops HR programs, strategies, and implementation methods, including recruitment, retention, orientation, and training.
  • Establishes departmental goals, policies, and procedures.
  • Recruits, trains, evaluates, and manages department staff.
  • Prepares and manages departmental budgets within financial limits.
  • Prepares reports for senior management.
  • Ensures compliance with hospital policies and Joint Commission standards.
  • Interprets policies to staff and manages employee relations.
  • Negotiates union contracts.
  • Conducts surveys on turnover, wages, benefits, and morale.
  • Investigates disputes and grievances, recommending corrective actions.
  • Maintains personnel records securely and accurately.
  • Administers employee benefits and programs, and implements performance evaluations.
  • Participates in professional development activities.
  • Attends hospital meetings and performs additional duties as assigned.
