Associate Director, Commercial Data Science

Responsibilities- Lead execution and delivery of Machine Learning and advanced analytics projects, including predictive modeling, AI/ML, Gen AI, and large‑scale data modeling.
- Prototype and product ionize advanced models such as probabilistic time‑series, deep learning, causal inference, reinforcement learning, simulation, and generative/agentic techniques.
- Drive omnichannel media strategy aligned with brand objectives and impact.
- Provide day‑to‑day guidance to a team of data scientists (senior and junior) across statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and Generative AI projects.
- Develop, coach, lead, and retain a high‑performing Data Science team, fostering trust with stakeholders.
- Communicate effectively with key stakeholders on impact, status, and success of initiatives.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for commercial leaders engaging in AI/ML activities.
- Maintain awareness of current research and standard methodologies in data analytics.
Doctorate degree with 3+ years of experience in statistics, operations research, mathematics, econometrics, business administration, or a related quantitative field.
OR Master’s degree with 7+ years experience.
OR Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years experience.
OR Associate’s degree with 12+ years experience.
OR High school diploma/GED with 14+ years experience.
Additionally, a minimum of 3 years of direct people‑management or leadership experience is required.
- Relevant data science experience and Bio/Pharmaceutical industry knowledge.
- Excellent leadership and management skills with 3+ years of direct people management.
- Experience in AI, machine learning, quantitative methods, multivariate statistics, predictive modeling, and analytics frameworks with 5+ years delivering complex analytical projects.
- Experience with Databricks and AWS (or other cloud technologies).
- Advanced proficiency in Python, R, Scala, Java, or another object‑oriented programming language.
- Proficiency with external claims data for patient journey analysis.
- Understanding of git‑based environments with CI/CD for data models.
- Ability to foster an environment of openness, diversity of opinion, and risk‑taking.
- Strong oral, written, and presentation skills for communicating complex concepts to senior management.
- Comfortable challenging the status quo and delivering innovative solutions.
- Knowledge of technology platforms and ability to partner with IS/IT and business leaders.
