* In this vital role, you will lead competitive intelligence activities as a key member of the Obesity Competitive Intelligence team within Obesity Intelligence & Analytics. You will serve as a key partner to Obesity leadership and cross-functional teams, translating rapidly evolving competitive developments into actionable insights that inform asset and portfolio strategy.

** Flex Commuter to Amgen's Thousand Oaks, CA office, with 3 on-site days per week expected.

** Key Responsibilities*
* + Be a strategic thought partner to Obesity leadership and cross-functional teams, bringing a competitive perspective to key business decisions

+ Synthesize complex intelligence into strategic insights and clear implications for Amgen's portfolio and business strategy

+ Work in a highly cross functional manner and manage changing priorities across key stakeholders

+ Develop productive relationships with Global and Regional teams to define business problems and develop integrated analysis plans based on standard methodologies

+ Apply structured problem solving to collect, analyze and report CI, incorporating primary and secondary data sources to generate meaningful insights

+ Articulate the impact of changing market dynamics and competitive developments to key stakeholders

+ Organize and facilitate strategic exercises & competitive simulations to generate competitive insights and company plans

+ Lead CI planning and intelligence collection at major medical congresses, working cross-functionally to translate emerging data and insights into timely implications for stakeholders

+ Manage a network of primary data sources, including vendors and Amgen employees, to enable effective project delivery

+ Collaborate with fellow CI leads to advance competitive intelligence capabilities and best practices

+ Synthesize CI research findings while maintaining high standards for accuracy, relevance, and quality, and clearly communicate the strength of evidence to key partners

+ Present strategic analysis, insights, implications, and recommendations to key stakeholders and leadership

+ Abide by and strictly enforce Amgen's CI Legal and Ethical Guidelines with internal colleagues and agencies

+ Some travel (15-20%) required

** Basic Qualifications*
* + Doctorate degree and 2 years of competitive intelligence or similar experience OR

+ Master's degree and 4 years of competitive intelligence or similar experience OR

+ Bachelor's degree and 6 years of competitive intelligence or similar experience OR

+ Associate's degree and 10 years of competitive intelligence or similar experience OR

+ High school diploma / GED and 12 years of competitive intelligence or similar experience

** Preferred Qualifications*
* + Advanced degree (PhD/MS/MBA) with a focus on life sciences and business

+

Experience with in life science consulting work in obesity and/or other metabolic conditions

+ Familiarity with biopharma industry

+ Relevant experience in obesity via prior project work, disease area knowledge

+ Prior experience in strategy/management consulting in the biopharma industry, roles of increasing responsibility
