Registered Nurse for Home Infusion – responsible for inserting, monitoring, and removing IVs for medication, blood products, and nutrition. Monitors patients for adverse reactions, maintains IV sites, and performs venous phlebotomy when necessary. Documents all patient-related activities, vital signs, and administers medications. Coordinates staffing and communicates with patients and team regarding treatment and scheduling.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities- Insert intravenous cannulas; administer IV solutions and medications; monitor infusion sites and patient responses.
- Perform venous phlebotomy and obtain blood levels.
- Document vital signs, nursing assessments, and care plans.
- Coordinate schedules, confirm visits with patients and nursing agencies, and send updates via email.
- Review nursing notes for accuracy and completeness; ensure correct drug dosing and timing.
- Communicate problems or reportable situations to referring MD and LUX Infusion nursing staff.
- Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations and ethical standards.
- Assist with staffing coordination and maintain confidentiality.
- Teach patients and caregivers how to manage home infusion therapy.
- Nursing Degree from an accredited college.
- Current state RN license required (minimum of two years experience).
- IV certification and experience in central line care.
- Experience in home care, critical care, emergency nursing, or hospital discharge planning.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Willingness to travel to patient homes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- CPR certification required.
- Experience with medical terminology preferred.
- Registered Nurse degree and licensure.
$55,000 – $65,000 USD per year.
Physical DemandsMay require standing, walking, sitting, handling objects, reaching, climbing stairs, stooping, and occasional lifting up to 25 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Other Requirements- Participate in annual legal and ethical compliance training.
- Act in compliance with LUX Infusion policies.
- Adhere to standards outlined in the Compliance Manual.
- Refrain from unethical or unlawful behavior.
