Infusion Nurse

Job Overview

Registered Nurse – Home Infusion (Per‑diem). Responsible for inserting, monitoring, and removing intravenous lines to deliver medications, blood products, and nutrition. Provides nursing assessment, documentation, and patient education while coordinating scheduling and communication with patients, families, and agency staff.

• Insert and manage IV or PICC lines, including central line care and phlebotomy as needed.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions, taking vital signs and completing physical assessments during therapy.
• Document all nursing activities, medication administrations, and patient responses accurately in the system.
• Coordinate staffing and scheduling, confirming visits with patients and agency personnel.
• Review and verify nursing notes for completeness and accuracy.
• Communicate clinical information and problem reporting up the chain of command.
• Provide patient and caregiver education on home infusion techniques and line care.
• Assist with quality assurance activities, audits, and documentation compliance.

• Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment; minimum of 2 years clinical experience preferred.
• Certification or proven experience in central line care and management.
• Experience with intravenous therapy, phlebotomy, home or critical care nursing, or hospital discharge planning.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to patient homes.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to multitask and coordinate care.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Adherence to federal and state nursing regulations and ethical standards.

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
• CPR certification.
• Experience in staffing coordination and scheduling.

$55,000 to $65,000 per year, based on experience.
