Environment, Health, Safety and Sustainability (EHSS) Manager

In this highly visible role, you will partner across the Manufacturing and Clinical Supply organization with specific focus on Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Manufacturing, Engineering, Facilities, and Warehouse Operations to drive strategic EHS initiatives that protect our people, support innovation, and enable operational excellence.

As a trusted advisor and leader, you will champion risk management, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement while influencing business decisions across the organization. You'll have the opportunity to make a measurable impact by advancing safety performance, strengthening environmental stewardship, and fostering a culture where every employee is empowered to work safely.

Based at our headquarters in Thousand Oaks, California, this role offers the opportunity to collaborate with cross‑functional teams, solve complex challenges, and help deliver life‑changing therapies in a fast‑paced, mission‑driven environment.

Primary responsibilities include:
  • Partner with Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Manufacturing, Facilities & Engineering, and Warehouse Operations to strengthen a proactive safety culture and effectively manage EHS risks across the organization.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert and primary point of contact for critical EHS programs, including hazardous gas safety, lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, fall protection, non‑routine and hazardous work, environmental compliance, and other core EHS programs.
  • Lead ergonomic assessments and implement practical solutions that improve employee well‑being and reduce musculoskeletal injury risks in both office and manufacturing environments.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive EHS risk assessments that identify hazards, evaluate operational risks, and establish sustainable engineering, administrative, and procedural controls.
  • Leverage EHS performance data and leading indicators to identify trends, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and measure progress against organizational objectives.
  • Conduct workplace inspections, compliance assessments, and field observations to identify opportunities, reinforce safe behaviors, and ensure adherence to regulatory and company standards.
  • Partner with cross‑functional teams to integrate EHS requirements into change management activities, ensuring operational changes are evaluated for potential safety and environmental impacts before implementation.
  • Lead incident response, investigations, and root cause analyses, driving effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) that strengthen organizational learning and prevent recurrence.
  • Facilitate EHS business reviews with functional leaders, providing strategic insights, monitoring performance, and driving accountability for key safety and environmental initiatives.
